Ken's Gear Here are some shots of the gear I'm currently
using as of March, 2006. The newest addition is the Ovation
Custom Elite LX, courtesy of Rick Hall at Ovation. I really like
the new OP-PRO pre-amp, sounds great, lots of possibilities and the
built in tuner is a nice touch. To me, the sound of this system is an
improvement over prior Ovation pre-amps, it gives me some great sonic
alternatives to the Taylor. The middle row below shows my long time
main ax, a Taylor 812ce. This is still a hard one to beat and with the
addtion of the Avalon pre-amp (courtesy of R. Landers) the sound is
amazing. The Taylor signal passes through a BOSS tuner, a staple on
stage which mutes the signal output allowing one to tune easily and
quickly during the show. I'm currently playing my Rickenbacher lap steel
through a Korg Toneworks and a new Fender Steel King amp. I'm going
to go back to using my old MXR Distortion + on the lap steel as the
Toneworks is not happening. I mainly use the Steel King for pedal steel
but since I'm not currently using the pedal steel with Glen's show I'm
using it with the Rick. Click the thumbnail for a larger image and use
